Hello everyone, Firstly, I would like to say a huge thank you for all the Christmas presents that we received from the Members – once again we are all very touched that you took the time and expense to give us gifts and they were very much appreciated (and enjoyed!).
I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to all those who gave a donation to the Society. I am very aware that the cost of everything has gone through the roof, so for us to receive donations at this time is rather humbling. We had a very busy time here over the Christmas period with Christmas lunches and our annual Christmas Extravaganza Show.
The show was a heartwarming celebration filled with joy, laughter, and festive spirit. It was a great success enjoyed by the family and friends of many of our members who came along to watch. I have to say that our cook Nicky, took on the challenge of preparing, on two separate occasions, 3 course Christmas lunches for approximately 16 people each time. Needless to say Nicky made it 2 look easy and thank you so much for providing such tasty food.
If you haven’t been down to the Society to try one of Nicky’s lovely lunches you are truly missing out! Just give us a call and we will fit you in! The start of January was a little quiet in the Society but the activities are starting to be well attended again – perhaps due to the promise of longer days and Spring on the horizon.
However, there’s always room for more Members to attend, so please take a look at the Activities Timetable at the back of this FOCUS and if there’s anything that appeals to you, please feel free to join us! We are looking forward to another busy year and we would love to see more of you so please come down and give an activity a try – you might like it!
