Advice and advocacy

Losing your sight changes things. We're here to help you figure out what comes next.

Our team can support you with:

    • Benefits and financial advice

    • Equipment recommendations

    • Navigating health and social services

    • Advocacy and representation

    • General advice on living with sight loss

Befriending & home visits

Some days are harder than others. That's why we match members with befrienders—people who visit for a chat, a cup of tea, or a walk.

You and your befriender decide together how often you'd like to meet and what you'd like to do. It could be a weekly visit at home, a monthly outing, or something in between.

It's like having a new friend who genuinely gets it.

Audio library

We have hundreds of talking books you can borrow for free—by post or in person.

Our collection includes cassettes and CDs across all genres, and it's all organized by volunteers so you can find what you're looking for.

Unlimited borrowing time. No pressure.

Equipment room

Not sure which magnifier is right for you? Want to try a talking clock before you buy?

Our resource room is stocked with magnifiers, lighting aids, kitchen gadgets, talking clocks, and all sorts of clever tools that make daily life easier.

Try before you buy—and get advice from people who know what works.
